Getting started

How do I invite my family?

The parent who starts the hub opens Family and taps "Get invite link," then texts it to the other parent and the children. Tapping the link opens Choreprint, and each person taps their name to claim their spot.

Does everyone need an iPhone?

Yes. Choreprint runs on iPhone and iPad and shares your hub through iCloud, so each person needs an Apple Account signed in to iCloud. Children can use an Apple Account set up through Family Sharing.

A child got a new phone. What now?

Send them the invite link again. They tap "I'm already on here," pick their name, and a parent enters the PIN to confirm.

Will we get notifications?

Yes, if you allow them. Children can hear about new special chores right away, so they can grab one first, plus answers to their questions and payments. Parents hear about chores to check off, cash-out requests, and questions. Each person picks which ones they get in Settings. They usually arrive within a minute, but iOS can hold them back, and a phone where Choreprint was swiped closed gets them only after it is opened again.

Chores and money

Does Choreprint send money?

No. Choreprint keeps track of what each child has earned. When it is time to pay, it opens Cash App, Venmo, or PayPal with the details filled in. You can also pay in cash or in person and mark it paid.

What if a chore was not really done?

A parent can send it back with a note before checking it off. After it is checked off, swipe left on it in that child's history to take the money back, ask for a redo, or record that it was paid another way.

Which payment apps can a child use?

It depends on age. Add each child's age on their page in Family, and Choreprint offers only what fits. Under 13, cash or in person. From 13 to 17, Cash App or Venmo with a teen account that a parent sets up or approves in that app, or cash. From 18, any of them, including PayPal. Each app is set up on its own, outside Choreprint, and the ages count up by themselves every year.

Can we pay in cash?

Yes, at any age. A child asks for their money in cash or in person, a parent hands it over, and either of them marks it paid.

Can we give an allowance that isn't for chores?

Yes. On a child's page in Family, set an amount and how often: every week, every 2 weeks, or every month, on the day you pick. It goes into their balance by itself and shows as Allowance in their history, and it doesn't count toward the chore leaderboard.

Can a chore have a deadline?

Yes. Daily, every-child, and certain-days chores can have a finish-by time, like noon for making beds. After that time the chore closes for the day, so nobody can grab it or mark it done late. Anytime chores, like the dishes, have no time limit.

Can each child call us something different?

Yes. When you set up a child, you choose what that child calls each grown-up, whether that is Mom, Grandpa, or a first name. They see those names everywhere in the app.
